Ukraine Euro Cup
Ukraine's participation in the UEFA European Championships is evident across three tournaments: Euro 2012, Euro 2016, and Euro 2020. Notably, prior to 1996, several players represented the Soviet Union national team and CIS national team, including Oleksiy Mykhailychenko, Hennadiy Lytovchenko, Oleh Luzhnyi, and Ivan Hetsko, among others.
For Euro 2012, their hosting status granted automatic qualification, marking their debut in a major European football tournament. The inaugural match against Sweden resulted in a triumphant 2-1 victory in Kyiv.
Qualification for Euro 2016 was secured via the play-offs, with a victory over Slovenia. Similarly, their triumph in the qualifying group paved the way for their participation in Euro 2020. A significant milestone was reached as they progressed to the quarter-finals for the first time, triumphing over Sweden 2-1 in extra time. However, their journey was curtailed by England in the subsequent round.
